What to wear
Mountain takeoffs are cooler and windier than the beach, even in August. Tick these off the night before.
- Closed shoes with good gripTrainers or hiking shoes. You’ll take a few running steps on rough ground, so no sandals.
- Long trousers or leggingsComfortable and easy to move in.
- Layers and a light windproof jacketIt’s cooler at the takeoff and cooler again in the air.
- SunglassesA strap helps keep them on.
- Water, sun cream and a charged phoneThere’s little shade at most takeoffs.

The five takeoffs
Every flight is a tandem with your own pilot. Prices are per person.

When to fly
Paragliding depends on the wind, so we confirm every flight before you set off.
Season
April to October brings the most flyable days. July and August are the busiest, so book a few days ahead. Outside the main season we fly on good days.
Time of day
Morning air is usually the smoothest, which suits first-timers. Your pilot picks the slot that suits the site and the forecast.
Go or no-go
Strong or gusty wind, the wrong wind direction, rain or low cloud mean no-go. We tell you before you travel and move your flight.
Who can fly
Most people can fly tandem. When you message us, tell us each passenger’s age and weight and we’ll confirm.
Talk to us first if you’re pregnant, have a heart condition or high blood pressure, have had recent surgery, have back, neck, knee or ankle problems, or have epilepsy. If you’re not sure, check with your doctor.
Eat light
A light meal one or two hours before. Not a big breakfast, not an empty stomach.
Look ahead
Keep your eyes on the horizon if you start to feel queasy.
Speak up early
Tell your pilot straight away if you feel unwell. They’ll fly smoother or head in to land.
Skip the alcohol
Save it for the celebration after you land.
